How it works, in three steps
The order matters: the application has to be approved before the project starts - we make sure nothing is signed too early.
Application - before the project
- Your company submits the application on the BAFA portal
- A clearing body (Leitstelle) checks the formal requirements
- You wait for the written go-ahead - we prepare everything with you
Consulting & invoice
- After approval, we sign the agreement and start the project
- You pay the invoice in full by bank transfer and keep the statement
Reimbursement
- You upload the proof of use (Verwendungsnachweis) to the BAFA portal
- After review, BAFA transfers the grant to your account
Formally, the applicant is always your company - we coach you through every step, from the form to the final report, as an unpaid part of working together.

What the programme does
The subsidy
BAFA supports small and medium-sized businesses by covering part of the cost of expert consulting - up to 50% of eligible costs, on a basis of up to EUR 3,500 net per consultation.
The mechanism
The grant is a non-repayable government subsidy for approved consulting projects. It is paid out to your company after the project - not a loan, not a discount.
